THERAPY FOR ANXIETY

Anxiety does NOT have to take over your life anymore…

Almost everyone I’ve worked with has struggled with some form of anxiety. For some it feels minimal and more like “ light stress”, for others it feels completely debilitating and can even result in panic attacks.

Anxiety can feel overwhelming, but with the right kind of support you can feel less activated and more grounded. Together we can learn more about your story, understand the roots of your anxiety, and help you gain more control over when your anxiety is helpful and when it is harmful. Chances are, at times, your anxiety has been useful…it’s helped you stay up late and study, it’s alerted you to something you want or need, or it’s helped you to be able to take care of everyone and everything.

However, it’s likely that somewhere along the way your anxiety received the message that it was welcome way too often.  You have sought help today because your anxiety is definitely not welcome right now.

How We Can Work Together

I incorporate an assortment of techniques into my analytic approach to therapy. This means that together we will aim to help you cope in the short term with what you might be experiencing and when we have helped you move to a more comfortable space we will work together long term to uncover the origins of your anxiety, how it manifests and how to move out of this state long term. The techniques we use at first are short term solutions to a bigger situation. These techniques will help you to feel more grounded and the analytic aspects of therapy will help you to know you will be okay long term.

You do not have to live with the discomfort or fear that you are experiencing. My counseling practice in Colorado specializes in online therapy for anxiety. I know that particularly with anxiety and some of the depressive symptoms that are involved, it can be difficult to reach out for an initial appointment. You are welcome to reach out via phone, text or email, whichever feels most manageable right now.
